Climate 200 is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Specialist to help grow our philanthropic program and manage meaningful donor experiences. This is a hands-on fundraising role reporting to the Fundraising Director and working closely with the Head of Community and Donor Journeys team. You will play a critical role in stewarding our supporters, strengthening relationships, securing funding and delivering high-quality communications that connect donors to the impact of our work.
This role is Flexible and can be done from anywhere in Australia. However if you are located in Melbourne, Sydney or the Gold Coast, we have locally based offices that you can work hybrid from.
What's involved:
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and manage donor communications ensuring timely, compelling, and accurate messaging.
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing donors, ensuring a seamless and high-quality donor journey.
- Secure five, six and seven-figure donations.
- Lead the development of new income streams.
- Identify, research, and cultivate prospective major donors, supporting the Head of Community in strategy and engagement.
- Help plan and deliver donor events.
- Work closely with the wider donor journey team to ensure integrated, end-to-end experiences across all touchpoints.
- Support the Fundraising Director in reporting on philanthropy metrics, donor engagement, and event outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to translate campaign updates, media moments and organisational milestones into opportunities for donor engagement.
- Represent Climate 200 at donor events with professionalism, credibility, and warmth.
Key criteria:
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- A minimum five years’ experience in philanthropy, major donor fundraising, or business development, preferably in not-for-profits or political organisations.
- Proven experience managing major donor relationships.
- Strong written communication skills, with experience crafting compelling donor messaging.
- Ability to identify, research and cultivate major donor prospects, building trust over time.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless supporter experience.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Commitment to the values of the community independents movement, climate action, and democratic renewal.
- Confidence operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
