Why you might love this opp:
Humans of Purpose is a purpose‑led marketing agency and platform operating at the intersection of strategy, story and social impact. HoP is a three-part business ecosystem: a B Corp digital agency for businesses and clients in the impact space; the Academy - a workforce re‑entry program creating digital career pathways for women facing barriers to employment - and the Community, a leadership space for purpose practitioners. Together, these parts reflect a whole‑of‑business commitment to measurable social impact through jobs and economic independence for women rebuilding their lives after crisis.
Why you might love this opp:
🌍 You’ll be joining a high-performing social business that creates career pathways for women rebuilding after domestic and family violence, while also powering the growth of purpose-led brands - from climate startups and social enterprises to changemaking B Corps and impact funds. What sets Humans of Purpose apart? Our model brings together strategic marketing, workforce pathways and community to drive long-term change. It’s commercial, values-led, and quietly radical.
⚡ Impact in action: Backed by the Paul Ramsay Foundation, Snow Foundation, NSW government + more, we’ve worked with purpose-driven brands including UTS Impact Studios, Today Design and the Impact Investment Summit Asia Pacific. Our top-ranked podcast has profiled 400+ changemakers, and our Academy has helped 400+ women - launch digital careers that give them flexibility and stability when they need it most.
🎛️ In a nutshell: You’ll lead the Academy - setting direction, evolving the program model, and ensuring it delivers meaningful, sustained employment outcomes for women rebuilding after crisis. You’ll also help shape what’s next for HoP: leading impact rhythms, unlocking new funding and partnerships, and working with the CEO to build a stronger, more scalable organisation.
📅 The delivery rhythm: One day you’re refining the Academy with your team - reviewing cohort progress, strengthening referral and employer pathways, and adjusting what’s not working. Next, you’re with funders or government partners - sharing impact updates, spotting opportunities, and keeping HoP’s impact story sharp and current. Throughout the week, you’re in the room with the leadership team - bringing performance insights, aligning priorities, and helping steer the next moves across the business.
🕶 Your style: You’re hands-on, not a distant strategist. You stay close to programs, partners and data - close enough to know what’s working, what’s stuck, and what needs to change. You think beyond delivery - shaping where the Academy grows next, which partnerships to invest in, and how it all connects to HoP’s Theory of Change. You step in when it counts, delegate with trust, and keep sight of the bigger picture - sustainability, mission alignment, and stronger outcomes at scale.
💬 Inside Humans of Purpose: We’re a women-led, values-driven team building something that matters. We move with focus and intent - commercially sharp, creatively strong, and serious about delivery. Collaboration, autonomy, and accountability shape how work gets done here. We’re here to build a business that performs - and transforms - and we hold ourselves to both.
🧭 Work design & flexibility: Part-time role paced at 0.8 FTE, with flex in how those hours are shaped. Salary from $140,000 FTE (pro-rata $112,000 at 0.8 FTE) + super and salary sacrificing benefits. The role is remote within Australia, ideally based in NSW, VIC or ACT. You’ll report directly to the founder, lead a small team, and have ownership over how you run your function. You’ll need full, unrestricted working rights in Australia.
🌟 Bonus: You might have been an Impact & Programs Lead, Social Enterprise Manager, Head of Programs, Operations Manager or Partnerships Manager - or done similar work under another title. You’ve led complex programs hands‑on, grown partnerships, and carried responsibility for funding, growth or impact. This role is designed to stretch you while giving you ownership and visible impact on women’s lives.
What's involved:
The mix may evolve over time but to start:
〰️ 50% Academy Leadership & Delivery
Set the direction for the Academy, making sure cohorts run smoothly and stay geared toward employment outcomes. You’ll map and refine cohort plans, adjust curriculum and support structures, and track placements, sustained employment and participant wellbeing. You’ll lead and support the Community Lead, ops support and contractors, and manage relationships with employers and referral partners so the Academy stays high‑care and high‑performing at the centre of HoP’s work.
〰️ 35% Funding & Strategic Partnerships
Support the funding and partnerships work that keeps HoP running and growing, working closely with the CEO on new opportunities and bigger plays. You’ll own our government contract - including milestones, reporting and relationships with contract managers. You’ll also nurture strategic partnerships, drive tenders, grants and philanthropic opportunities, and help shape new offerings - including future‑of‑work and AI‑focused programs for women in workplaces - to expand impact and revenue streams.
〰️ 15% Impact Tracking & Governance
Turn HoP’s impact into clear frameworks, data and stories that guide decisions across the organisation. You’ll manage what we measure, keep simple rhythms for collecting data across Academy, Agency and Community, and lead our annual Impact Report and B Corp recertification inputs. You’ll also spot where practice and claims drift apart, lift impact literacy in the team, and help embed purpose‑aligned governance and culture.
Key criteria:
💼 Program Delivery: You’ve led complex programs or services, and you understand employment, workforce or social inclusion contexts for women or other equity‑seeking cohorts. You’ve held complexity, kept partners aligned, and turned program goals into outcomes for people.
🧭 Accountability Ownership: You don’t just run activity; you own outcomes. When targets slip or participants stall, you step in early, reset the plan, and reshape the model to get things back on track and deliver the outcomes that matter.
🤝 Partnerships Driven: Nurturing relationships across government, philanthropy and employers is all in a day’s work. You’re comfortable holding funding or contract relationships and you think in terms of pipelines and multi‑year partnerships, not just one‑off grants.
💡 Commercial Savvy: You think like an owner, not just an operator. You’ve made hard calls on priorities and scope, and you understand that lasting impact depends on sustainable revenue, clear trade‑offs and saying ‘not now’ when something doesn’t stack up.
🧩 Systems Thinker: You see how people, data, contracts and programs fit together. You’ve turned messy spreadsheets and ad‑hoc reports into simple, reliable workflows that power funding, reporting and learning.
👥 People‑Centred Leader: You lead with clarity and warmth. You’ve invested in employees, contractors, volunteers and partners so that when you stretch for ambitious goals, trust is already there.
🚀 1-to-2 Builder: You’re at your best taking a working MVP and pushing it to the next stage. You’ve tested and iterated new models, and you bring founder‑level market awareness and hunger for growth, always looking for sharper ways to scale impact and sustainability.
