Why you might love this opp:

Climate 200 helps level the playing field for independent community campaigns committed to science-based climate action, restoring integrity to politics, and gender equity. Climate 200 supported the winning elections of 11 community independents in 2022, putting climate and integrity front and centre in those campaigns.

In the 2025 federal election, Climate 200 supported 35 campaigns nationally. 8 of these campaigns elected community independents to parliament, with another 10 electorates pushed into marginal territory. This is all thanks to Climate 200’s 33,000 donors from all 150 federal electorates.

Climate 200 has developed an impactful long-term strategy for the next Federal Election, which will require our small, high-performing team to achieve significant fundraising, capacity-building and strategic communications goals.

Climate 200 has an entry-level opportunity to work within our Community Outreach Calling Team. There are two vacancies to be filled. This is a remote and casual position, with working hours between 12:00pm to 6.30pm (AEST), for up to 3 days per week. This is a performance-based role; the team will work towards collective targets but each member is accountable for their own output, with potential pathway into other roles in the organisation.

You will receive on-the-job training and support from the Head of Donor Journeys, who can help to develop your skills in communication, message crafting, script development and fundraising. This is a role with opportunities for growth and cross-team engagement.

What's involved:

Tasks include, but are not limited to;

  • Making calls to the Climate 200 community as a part of coordinated fundraising and donor engagement campaigns, including strategy and campaign updates, event recruitment, and fundraising appeals.
  • Participating in, and helping to shape, targeted campaigns aligned with broader fundraising objectives.
  • Working towards ambitious team fundraising targets, bringing in one-off and recurring donations from small scale donors.
  • Supporting the growth and retention of our recurring donor base, with responsibility for donor care and active relationship management.
  • Providing insights to the organisation from your conversations with the donor community, helping to inform fundraising and engagement strategies.
  • Contributing to the broader organisational strategy, through ad hoc support to the Fundraising team and other areas as required. Examples include:
    • Providing event support (online, and in-person where possible)
    • Providing social media support
    • Contributing to written communications
    • Conducting in-depth donor research and analysis
Key criteria:

We care much more about your aptitude and passion than your resume. If you’re not sure if you meet all of the criteria below, but you’re excited by the idea of being part of Climate 200’s next election campaign, please apply!

Selection Criteria:

  • Ability to communicate with influence, confidence, clarity and respect, to a range of different audiences.

  • A demonstrated interest in and understanding of the Australian political landscape and the community independents movement.
  • Strong personal resilience and the ability to handle challenging interactions with people.
  • Commitment to Climate 200’s values of climate action, integrity in politics and gender equity.
  • A can-do attitude that will allow you to flourish in a fast-paced organisation that values innovation, experimentation and problem-solving.

Plus bonus points if you have experience in any of the following:

  • A role that required you to interact with people over the phone
  • Exposure to any type of fundraising
  • Involvement in election campaigning or creating impact through advocacy
  • Using CRM platforms
How to apply:

We’re keen to work with people who bring passion and creativity to their work! We’d love to give you the opportunity to showcase your skills, whatever they may be. Whether it’s design work, a piece of writing, social media content, or another piece of work that showcases your skills, please include an example alongside your application! You are welcome to create one for the application, or include something you have created previously.

Previous applicants have included (but don’t let this limit you!):

  • A piece of persuasive writing, including a powerful call to action
  • A video for Instagram or Tiktok, with a bold message
  • A beautifully designed brochure / pamphlet for a political or advocacy campaign
  • A recording of a performance of a stand-up comedy sketch

If this sounds like the right fit for you, please submit your resume, one-page cover letter and your ✨ talent showcase (you can include this in your cover letter). If you have any questions, please contact sophie@climate200.com.au.
