Content and Marketing Lead
ReLove
Ready to bring your storytelling and content expertise to a deeply impactful, hands-on role?
Why us?
Help us drive impact in:
The opportunity:
Why you might love this opp:
ReLove is a purpose-led nonprofit furnishing safe, beautiful homes for people impacted by homelessness and domestic violence. We rescue high-quality furniture from offices, hotels and retailers - and provide families and individuals escaping crisis with safe, dignified and free furniture shopping experiences for their homes. In 2025, we launched ReStory by ReLove - a social enterprise retail store that resells designer furniture to the public, with 100% of proceeds going directly back to ReLove. The two brands share a mission, and occasionally you'll tell both stories. If you’re a storyteller and content creator that loves being on the ground and part of the action as much as at a desk, this is the role for you!
Why you might love this opp:
💜 You’ll be joining one of Australia’s fast-growing social change brands - bold, inventive, and unapologetically big picture. Behind every volunteer shift, donation, and delivery is a human moment worth telling: community chipping in, families finding stability, and donated pieces becoming part of someone’s fresh start. The opportunity in this role isn’t dreaming up content in a vacuum. It’s spotting the moments that matter and keeping pace with the volume and energy of ReLove’s work - and translating this into content each day - so more people discover, back and grow something that can change lives.
🛋️ Our impact in action: 981 families set up in safe housing, 74% of them women escaping violence and homelessness. 1,500 tonnes of furniture saved from landfill. 100 volunteers a week, powering 5,000+ days of hands-on change. Backed by 130+ charity and agency partners. Side by side with communities we’re proving that sustainability and social impact can go hand in hand - because everyone deserves a place to land. This isn’t just a charity - it’s systems change. And your storytelling will help drive it.
🎥 As Content and Marketing Lead: You’ll be the storyteller-in-chief - capturing the generosity, humanity and power of community connection behind every moment. You’ll be where the action is: filming reels in the warehouse, snapping photos on delivery day, grabbing footage at events, and amplifying media moments in real time. Then you’ll bring it all to life - editing, captioning, and shaping content for every channel, from LinkedIn posts to Insta reels to partner reports - to help people connect with the power of ReLove in action.
📅 Your week: It’s all about spotting stories others might miss - the laughter between volunteers, the transformation of a home being furnished, the buzz of a partner event - and flipping them into reels, posts, and reports that carry ReLove’s energy out into the world. One day you’re helping craft a LinkedIn post for the founders to add their take on new research that just dropped, the next you’re weaving excerpts of this with photos and quotes into a newsletter, partner proposal or impact report. Whatever the format, you bring moments to life so more people see, feel, and rally behind this movement.
🕶️ Your style: Finding the right fit for this purpose-led role is top of mind. Passion and drive matter just as much as experience (we get that this may have been gathered in a non-profit, startup or somewhere else entirely). What’s crucial is that you’ve got an eye for the story in the moment - and the initiative and insight to turn it into something that aligns and lasts. You move fast, make things happen, and learn as you go. You bring creativity with respect, hustle with heart - and you’re hungry to grow with a social enterprise that’s flipping the script on circular economy and impact.
💬 How we work: We’re a startup with momentum and a community-first ethos. Things move quickly, and always with kindness. Our team thrives on trust, accountability, and showing up for each other. We collaborate, celebrate wins, and stay flexible - always looking for smarter, braver ways to do the work and grow our collective impact.
⚡ Full-time, heart of the action: Permanent role based at our Sydney warehouse + HQ - because the magic’s in the room. Salary $80K - $100K + super + salary packaging. Work side by side with ReLove’s Co-Founders and the ops + shop crew. Full working rights in Australia needed.
What's involved:
To hit the ground running:
〰️ 70% Content Creation & Storytelling
This is your bread and butter. If there’s one thing we want interested people to know it’s this: you’ll be on the ground catching the magic as it happens - in the warehouse, at our social enterprise store, in the community, or right next to our founders as they go from public speaking & media opportunities, meetings with partners, connecting with volunteers and aligning strategy (can you make a meeting look interesting?!) You’ll see the story - and the moment for amplification - and you’ll spin it into reels, posts, emails and updates that keep everyone from volunteers to funders in the loop and energised. You know how to grab a moment, polish it fast, and push it out so it lands with heart and stays on brand.
〰️ 20% Brand Activation & Systemisation
You’ll be the creative guardian of ReLove’s look and feel, making sure every tile, poster, reel cover and slide feels unmistakably ReLove. You’ll shape our content playbook and visual toolkit in Canva, from tone of voice and story pillars to layouts, colours and type, so the whole team can create beautiful, on‑brand content fast. When an event, partnership, shop promo or internal doc needs love, you’ll elevate it; sharpening the design, tightening the words, and ensuring our brand shows up with heart and craft wherever people meet us.
〰️ 10% Strategic Communications & Copywriting
Media pitch? Speech? Impact report? No stress. You’ll take the big, complex stuff and shape comms that lands for the right audience - from government partners and donors to corporate execs and community customers. You’ll support ReLove’s Co-Founders with writing that’s clear, confident and timely, helping key stakeholders stay close, aligned, and deeply engaged in the mission.
Key criteria:
The kind of expertise and skills you can leverage in this role include:
📸 Story & Content Craft: You’ve worked with stories before - spotting the moment, shaping the angle, and turning it into content that connects. From short-form video and images to sharp copy that influences change, you move from idea to output fast, without losing quality or authenticity.
📱 Platform Fluent, Story Sensitive: You know how stories land differently on Instagram, LinkedIn, email, and IRL - and you adjust the format and tone without diluting the message. You’ve edited mobile-first video, tested trends, shifted tone across audiences, and delivered content that resonates with care.
🎨 Brand-Savvy & Design Literate: You’re confident in tools like Canva, CapCut, and AI editors, and you know how to make content look polished and on-brand. Fonts, spacing, image choice, you care about the details that keep a brand consistent and credible.
⚡ Action-Oriented & Entrepreneurial: You get things done on the ground, not just from behind your desk - and you love being where the action is. You’ve thrived in early‑stage or fast‑moving environments where priorities shift, deadlines stack and you’re just as comfortable on the floor of a warehouse or at an event as you are tidying things up at a laptop. When the pace picks up, you keep quality high, projects moving and the team supported - jumping in, rolling up your sleeves and helping everyone do their best work. You take initiative, spot what’s needed on the ground, and aren’t afraid to run with an idea.
🧠 Creative Problem Solver, Builder at Heart: You’ve improved the way content gets made - building simple systems, campaigns or resources that make future work easier and sharper for everyone. Whether it was launching a content series, reworking a message mid-campaign, or creating assets a team didn’t know they needed, you’ve brought clarity and momentum. You also know when to pause, think strategically, and spot options others might miss.
🌍 Mission-Aligned Storyteller: You’re here for more than content - you want your work to fuel a movement. ReLove’s mission excites you, and you’re ready to capture it in ways that grow community and backing.
