Why you might love this opp:

The Funding Network (TFN) is a purpose-led non-profit that runs live collective giving events - they do more than raise hands and dollars - they spark momentum. They bring bold grassroots ideas into rooms full of people ready to back them, creating the kind of energy that funds game-changing work, unlocks powerful networks, and fuels long-term impact well beyond the night itself. It’s fast-paced, high-trust, and all in service of a more generous, inclusive Australia.

Why you might love this opportunity

💚 Changing who gets backed: TFN puts grassroots changemakers on stage, in front of a room that came ready to back them. Stories land. Hands go up. Tens of thousands of dollars move directly to community-embedded organisations. But the real impact travels further. In that room, changemakers meet people ready to open doors, share networks, offer expertise and keep backing the work long after the night ends - turning one powerful evening into new possibilities for what comes next.

🌏 Impact in action: Since 2013, TFN has brought 26,000+ people into the room, delivered more than 200 events and helped move $32 million towards 630+ grassroots and social change programs. What happens next is the real story. Alumni including Consent Labs, Ocean Mind, Studio A and Confit Pathways are now changing conversations, communities and entire sectors - and they’re not the exception: 70% of TFN-backed organisations have grown from small to medium or large. AMP Foundation, Macquarie, Atlassian and Accenture are among the organisations betting on the model - because some of Australia’s freshest ideas are already taking shape in communities across the country.

🥜 In a nutshell: You'll be the extra set of hands, eyes and brain power that helps TFN move faster. One minute you're untangling the CEO's calendar or pulling together a briefing note; the next you're scheduling socials, researching a speaker or spotting a clunky workflow that could be automated away. Broad by design, this is a role for someone who loves seeing where they can add value, picking up the practical pieces and making the whole organisation run a little smarter.

📅 Your week: A quiet morning might start with getting the socials out, tidying the CEO’s week and knocking over the bits everyone else has been meaning to get to. Other days the focus shifts fast - a team meeting to coordinate, a travel booking to sort, a supplier to chase before the next event. Then there's event mode: on the ground, ticking off the run sheet, keeping registrations moving and helping make sure everyone's where they need to be.

💬 Inside TFN: It’s a compact, close-knit team where everyone has a line of sight across the work - and a good idea can gather momentum fast, wherever it comes from. Someone spots a better way, another person builds on it, and before long it’s part of how the team works. You’ll be trusted to move things forward, bring a point of view and pitch in with people who are quick to solve, generous with ideas and deeply invested in what the team is building together.

💡 What you bring: Maybe you've got some experience in events support, admin, communications or something adjacent. Your experience might come outside of formal roles too - running a student organisation, managing a community project, building something of your own. What matters most is that you pick things up fast and back yourself to figure out the rest. We're interested in your instincts and attitude, and keen to hear how you’d apply your strengths to this context.

📍 The detail: Open to 0.6-1.0 FTE - whether that's balancing uni, other commitments, or ready to go full-time. Salary starts at $60,000 FTE + super + NFP salary packaging, pro-rated to your hours, with flexibility to go higher for someone bringing deeper experience and capability. Based in Eora/Sydney - hybrid, with usual in-office days Wednesdays and Thursdays. Full permanent work rights in Australia required.

What's involved:

The balance of work will shift over time but to start:

〰️ 35% Event Support & Coordination

During the lead-up to events, you're coordinating registrations, supporting logistics and maintaining run sheets. On event day, you're on-site - staffing the desk and supporting the schedule. Between events, you're maintaining the event management systems and keeping supplier records current.

〰️ 35% Marketing & Social Scheduling

You'll help keep content going out on time and consistently - scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, resizing graphics in Canva and maintaining the social accounts. You'll flag anything that needs a decision - a comment that needs a response, a post that's not performing. You'll also support basic database and CRM hygiene.

〰️ 30% Office Operations & Team Support

You'll keep the mechanics running - meeting logistics, travel bookings, office systems, and light executive support to the CEO and leadership team.

Key criteria:

📋 Organised by Default: You've kept moving parts in order - event logistics, a team calendar, a student project, whatever - and nothing's slipped through. You know what a good checklist looks like, and yes, you get a little kick out of ticking it off.

🚀 Self-Starter Energy: You don't wait to be told what needs doing - you spot it, sort it, and loop in the right person. If the calendar's got five things landing at once, you're the one flagging it and sorting a fix before anyone has to ask.

🔧 Digitally Fluent: New platform? Give you twenty minutes. You're not intimidated by a CRM you've never touched or a workflow you have to figure out as you go. Canva, Hootsuite, Google Workspace, Salesforce - the specific tools matter less than the underlying fluency.

💬 Clear Communicator (irl and online): You're as comfortable jumping on a call as firing off a well-crafted Slack message. Whether it's chasing a supplier or flagging something upwards to a senior leader, you find the right tone without overthinking it.

🌟 Long-Game Thinker: You're not just passing through - you're here to build something over time. You see the variety in this role (events, marketing, ops, exec support) as the foundation for growing into more, wherever your strengths take you at TFN.

🌱 Purpose-Led: You might not have a decade of NFP experience yet - but you've found your way toward this kind of work anyway, whether that's uni projects, volunteering, or choosing roles where the mission mattered as much as the paycheck.
