Why you might love this opp:

The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) is seeking a talented Editor and Copywriter to support our Australia’s research team to produce high-quality, accurate, influential and timely content focusing on the energy and finance sectors.

What's involved:

The role includes improving the flow and language of publications, making them easily understandable by a wide audience, providing quality assurance on references, and ensuring that all publications adhere to IEEFA’s editorial standards. The Editor will also provide copywriting support by developing text for media releases, social media posts and stakeholder outreach emails.

We are looking for a self-motivated multitasker who can work independently without continuous supervision. Working as part of a remote team in Australia, the ideal candidate will be expected to be able to communicate effectively with other members of the team over a variety of mediums (Zoom, G-suite, ClickUp, etc.), be comfortable with raising issues or questions along the way, and provide insights into your work.

The Editor and Copywriter will work remotely and may be based anywhere in Australia. Some travel is required. All global team members attend IEEFA’s annual conference and international team retreat. Quarterly in person team meetings alternate between Sydney and Melbourne.

Key criteria:

Required Qualifications

  • 1-4 years of editing and copywriting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English or a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Strong command of language, grammar and style, with proven ability to edit, write, review and proofread clear, engaging and accurate content
  • Skilled in planning, organising and managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and work effectively across teams and stakeholders
  • Commitment to IEEFA’s mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable and profitable economy
