🚀 As Business Development Manager, you won’t be handed a script - you’ll build the playbook. You’ll own the funnel - from lead gen to pitch to close - while staying close to onboarding, strategy sprints, and client success to keep every partnership firing on all cylinders. You’ll take what’s working, sharpen it, scale it, and drive the kind of growth that’s mission-aligned, margin-smart, and momentum-building. 📅 What your week might look like: One day you’re on a discovery call with a climate tech startup ready to scale; the next, you’re shaping a pitch, sealing a twelve-month retainer, or jumping into a team sync to keep delivery tight and on brief. You’ll test outreach plays (from events through to PR), finesse proposals, and keep HubSpot ticking - all while staying close to client success so every partnership runs like clockwork (but with more sparkle), and your context, clarity, and quick check-ins help the team shine, not scramble.

🕶️ Your style: You’re not just here to sell - you know how to build. And chasing down 6- 7 figure revenue goals doesn’t faze you - it fuels you. Maybe you’ve led growth in a creative team, scaled accounts inside an agency, or built something from scratch and picked up digital fluency along the way. Wherever you’ve been, you bring sharp instincts, a deep respect for the craft and you get what every dollar really means in a founder-led business where each decision flows through to people, operations, and the long game.

⚡ Full focus, Flex Options: Full time, with a base salary range starting at $120,000 + super (pro rata), plus performance bonuses - with the option of flex 4 days pro-rata for the right candidate. Whether you’re stepping up or bringing seasoned firepower (who sees the values alignment without dialling down the ambition) - this is for you. Ideally, you’re based in NSW or VIC, but we’re open to QLD or SA for the right person. Please note: you’ll need unrestricted, full working rights in Australia, sponsorship is not available for this position.

〰️ 50% Business Development
Own and lead the full BD cycle - from proactive outreach to closed deal. You’ll move fast on warm leads, shape standout proposals, and close purpose-aligned partnerships across sectors like climate, health, and education. You’ll optimise HubSpot, build repeatable conversion systems, and develop the playbooks and reporting tools that keep us laser-focused on pipeline, performance, and hitting ambitious growth targets.

〰️ 30% Client Strategy
Lead discovery calls and turn complex client goals into sharp, creative, and measurable growth strategies using HoP’s signature frameworks (like Growth-Driving Content Pillars™ and the HoP Measurement Model). You’ll set the strategic direction post-signing - shaping roadmaps, guiding delivery, and ensuring every project tracks toward clear, commercial, and mission-aligned results.
〰️ 20% Oversight, Enablement & Quality​
Stay close to delivery. You’ll review outputs, provide strategic guardrails, and coach the team when a quick pivot or deeper dive is needed. From dashboards to decks, you’ll help keep work on-brand, on-brief, and on-impact — while building the playbooks, workflows, and feedback loops that help us scale smarter.

You have a knack for strategically thinking about productisation in an agency setting and you’re ready to bring your savvy and action to developing our products to take to market.

💡 Digitally Fluent, Strategically Sharp: You understand the levers of great digital marketing - from content and paid media to funnels and measurement - and can confidently translate client goals into smart, measurable strategies. You speak the language of delivery and know how to sell it.

🧩 Systems-Savvy & Tech-Enabled: You don’t just sell services - you design smart, scalable systems to deliver them. From pitch decks to CRM flows, you're comfy leveraging tools like hubspot, canva, slack, asana and AI to improve how the team sells, delivers, and grows.

🧠 Creative Problem Solver: You love building the plane while flying it. You bring structure to ambiguity, test new ideas, and find resourceful ways through constraints. You’re not just here to follow a process - you help create it.
