Why you might love this opp:

The Funding Network runs events that do more than raise hands and dollars — they spark momentum. We bring bold grassroots ideas into rooms full of people ready to back them, creating the kind of energy that funds game-changing work, unlocks powerful networks, and fuels long-term impact well beyond the night itself. It’s fast-paced, high-trust, and all in service of a more generous, inclusive Australia.

Why you might love this opp:

🎤 The Funding Network (TFN) helps grassroots changemakers raise funding, find allies, and unlock new doors — all through the power of live, interactive events. From pitch coaching and storytelling to donor engagement and partnership building, we create unforgettable moments that spark long-term impact.

⚡️Our impact in action: In FY24 alone, TFN facilitated nearly $5 million in funds raised through flagship events and partnerships — backing 24 grassroots organisations, coaching 139 nonprofit leaders, and growing an alumni network that’s scaling fast. Across a decade? We’re talking $30+ million in funding, 300+ emerging charities, and over 2,000 leaders. 70% of our alumni have grown into medium or large organisations — proof that when bold ideas get the right backing, the impact travels further than you’d think.

🤝 With big vision and powerhouse partners like AMP Foundation, Macquarie, and Accenture, TFN is redefining what modern philanthropy looks like — turning pitch nights into powerful launchpads for the next gen of innovative impact organisations like Consent Labs, Ocean Mind, Studio A and Confit Pathways.

📁 As Business and Team Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of it all. Behind every great event, partnership and coaching session is someone making the wheels turn smoothly. You’ll be that person — helping TFN’s CEO and leadership team stay one step ahead. Whether it’s managing the moving pieces of a jam-packed calendar, streamlining a process, or setting the tone in a well-crafted email, your touch will help our team work smarter, faster, and with a little more joy.

🌀 Maybe you were the engine behind your uni society’s calendar & finances, the unofficial ops lead in a student startup, or the go-to team coordination brain in a previous role. Most important? You’ve built real-world skills by getting involved, keeping things organised, following up with care, and bringing a sense of structure to fast-moving projects. Whether through volunteering, early-stage programs or something else entirely,  you’ve already learned how to support big ideas — and now you’re ready to take it up a notch.

🏖 Flexibility meets growth: We’re flexible on hours (30 to 38 per week) and while Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane is ideal, remote works if you’re the right fit. Salary starts at $65K + super and benefits. Whether you’re early in your career or bringing serious business + admin chops, there’s room to grow. (P.S. If 4 days and a pro-rated salary is your sweet spot, just say so in your application!)

🧋 Bonus: Enjoy bonus hours off with extra paid leave over Christmas-NY and our unique TFN Summer policy (yep, really) as well as salary packaging perks (aka more money in your pocket), access to EAP, additional parental leave, alumni visits around the country (with mgmt sign off) and a work culture built on outcomes, not clock-watching.

What's involved:

The balance of work will shift but to start:

〰️ 50% Operations and Admin Support

Shared calendar giving chaos? Folders a mess? CRM looking like a mystery novel? Not on your watch. You’ll bring order to the backend — managing calendars, receipts, forms and file names that make sense — while making sure everyone feels in the loop and on top of things. You know your way around Slack, Asana, and a good naming convention — and when things get stuck, you’re not afraid to pick up the phone and sort it. Part air-traffic control, part vibe-keeper, you’re the steady hand that keeps the team moving and the systems singing in tune.

〰️ 30% CEO Support & Team Magic

No two weeks will look exactly the same — and that’s part of the fun. You’ll be the right hand to a very busy CEO and leadership team — keeping the schedule sane, meetings prepped, and priorities moving. From coordinating that all-important briefing doc to making sure the Zoom link is right (and sent), you’ll create the calm that lets leaders lead. You’ll also jump in across the team when the moment calls for it — whether that’s sending a nudge, booking a room, or helping turn a “we should do that” into a “done.” You bring good judgment, great instincts, and can-do energy that people trust.

〰️ 20% Process Improvement & Tech Support

You don’t need to be a tech wizard, but if you like playing with AI, figuring out faster ways to do stuff in Asana, or bringing order to Slack chaos — you’ll thrive here. You’ll help us level up how we use our tools and document processes that save time, headspace, and sticky notes.

Key criteria:

How you can apply your skills towards this mission:

🧠 Organised Operator With Big Systems

Energy From calendars to CRMs, you bring order to chaos. You’ve got a sharp eye for the details that matter — receipts filed, names consistent, folders that actually make sense — and the foresight to stay three steps ahead.

🧑‍💻 Digitally Fluent, Workflow Curious

Slack, Asana, Salesforce? No biggie. You’re comfy with digital tools, always up for learning something new, and maybe even a little obsessed with finding faster, cleaner ways to get things done. You don’t just use tech — you make it work for you.

🤝 People-Focused and Team-Tuned

You get a kick out of collaborating — jumping between a funder chat, a CEO check-in, and a quiet stretch of deep work without missing a beat. Stakeholders trust you, teammates love working with you, and your style is part group chat energy, part getting-it-done machine.

🚀 Proactive Doer With Good Instincts

You’re not one to sit around waiting for the to-do list to write itself. You spot what needs doing, take initiative, and know when to loop others in. You’ve got great judgement, a strong sense of ownership, and a bias toward action.

🌈 Adaptable, Reliable, and Calm(ish) Under Pressure

You roll with it. Whether the diary’s jammed or the inbox is popping off, you bring a steady energy that helps the team stay focused. You’re adaptable, detailed, discreet, and find genuine satisfaction in making things run like your favourite Spotify playlist.

🌏 Impact Curious (and Keen to Learn)

You don’t need a background in philanthropy or fundraising — but if the idea of helping bold ideas grow into big change gets you fired up, you’ll love it here. You’re values-led, tuned into the world, and ready to use your skills somewhere they count.

How to apply:

If any of the above resonated with you but you don’t tick every box:

👒 🧢 🎩 You should throw your hat in the ring, whatever those 2+ years of experience look like in your personal impact journey. We’d love to hear from you!

Finding the right fit for this purpose-led role is top of mind. Passion and action matter just as much as experience — whether you’re early in your career or pivoting with purpose. We’re looking for someone ready to step up, own their space, and grow with a team that backs you to do your best work.

We are assessing and interviewing applicants - don't wait!
