Starting a company takes grit, and we know women in startups often face extra hurdles to secure funding, build networks, and find mentors. That’s why we created the Stone & Chalk International Women’s Day Scholarship.

For the past four years, the Stone & Chalk IWD Scholarship has equipped female founders with the tools, support, and connections to grow with confidence. This year, we’re awarding six scholarships – two each in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney – to help more women take their startups further, faster.

If you're building a startup, this 6-month scholarship gives you what you need to grow faster. Here’s what you get:

  • A place to work, distraction-free. You’ll have access to two desks in our hubs in Adelaide, Melbourne, or Sydney – spaces built for startups.
  • A real startup community. Work alongside other founders who are figuring things out just like you. Swap advice, share wins, and learn from people who’ve been there.
  • Expert guidance, tailored to you. Get access to mentors, investors, and experienced founders who can help with the challenges you’re facing right now.
  • Growth programs designed for startups. Whether you're refining your product, getting your first customers, or raising capital, we have programs to help you take the next step.
  • The right connections. We’ll introduce you to investors, customers, and experts who can open doors and help you move faster.
Key criteria:

This scholarship is for women building startups in emerging tech. To be eligible, you must:

  • Identify as a woman
  • Are a founder of a startup that’s at MVP stage or later
  • Not currently be a resident at Stone & Chalk or an alumni

This scholarship gives you a real shot at making your startup work, and we encourage you to apply, even if you're not feeling 100% sure if you're a perfect fit or if it's right for you.

Applications close 5pm AEDT Friday 20 February 2026. Stone & Chalk will advise the winners by 5pm AEDT Monday 2 March 2026.
