We strengthen youth climate mental health by building resilience, fostering connection, and shifting climate culture and systems. 2026 is an exciting year for us as we launch our flagship program and level-up our governance, operations and impact.
We are looking for two brilliant humans to join the ECOMIND Board 💚
These are volunteer Board Director roles supporting us in 2026 as we launch our flagship program and level-up our governance, operations and impact.
Location: Remote (Australia-based preferred)
Term: 1 year (with option to renew)
Time commitment: Quarterly Board meetings and ad hoc correspondence (2-4 hours per month)
Remuneration: Voluntary
The roles
- Company Secretary: The Company Secretary is a Board Director responsible for ensuring strong governance processes, compliance and Board effectiveness. This role works closely with the Chair and CEO to ensure the Board meets its legal and fiduciary obligations.
- Treasurer: The Treasurer is a Board Director with specific responsibility for financial oversight, risk and sustainability. You will support the Board and CEO to steward ECOMIND’s resources responsibly as we scale programs, partnerships and funding.
Key Treasurer responsibilities
- Provide Board-level oversight of ECOMIND’s financial position, sustainability and risk
- Support the CEO with financial planning, scenario analysis and funding strategy
- Support ACNC financial compliance and statutory reporting
- Liaise with external accountants as needed and support audit or review processes
- Connect ECOMIND with funding opportunities
- Contribute to broader Board duties including strategy, risk and governance
Key Company Secretary responsibilities
- Ensure ECOMIND meets its statutory and regulatory obligations
- Support effective Board processes, including agendas, minutes and resolutions
- Maintain governance documents, registers and Board policies
- Connect ECOMIND with funding opportunities
- Contribute as a full Board Director to strategy, risk and organisational oversight
Key criteria:
Who we are looking for
- Experience in finance, accounting, investment, risk, consulting or senior financial leadership
- Ability to interpret financial reports and explain them clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Experience in governance, law, company secretarial work, policy or senior administration
- Strong understanding of director duties and governance frameworks (or willingness to learn)
- Understanding of NFP governance, or willingness to learn
- Values alignment and interest in climate and mental health systems-change
- Wide philanthropy network
- Prior board experience welcome but not required
